The IGNITE-TX (Identifying Individuals for Genetic Testing & Treatment) Study is a new nationwide research initiative designed to improve access to genetic education, counseling, and testing for individuals and families affected by hereditary cancer.
The study is jointly led by investigators at Weill Cornell Medicine and The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. The principal investigators are Dr. Ravi Sharaf and Dr. Melissa Frey of Weill Cornell Medicine and Dr. Jose Alejandro Rauh-Hain of MD Anderson Cancer Center.
The project is supported by a 5 year National Institutes of Health (NIH)/National Cancer Institute R01 research grant awarded in July 2026, totaling approximately $4 million in direct and indirect funding.
