We understand that many patients may have questions before and after receiving their mammogram results. As always, our radiologists are available to answer any questions. Our team is available to help navigate patients through breast imaging exams.
New York State law requires us to notify patients if they are found to have dense breast tissue. This notification includes the following; having dense breast tissue may increase your risk of getting breast cancer. Dense breasts also make it more difficult for radiologists to spot cancer on mammograms. While mammography is still the best test available to detect breast cancer, patients with dense breasts may consider additional screening exams such as ultrasound and MRI.
The breast imaging specialists of Weill Cornell Imaging at NewYork-Presbyterian are pleased to offer free consultations to answer your questions and to review the available options with you.
